Gun Violence Essay: Follow-Up
In 2023, EPA announced an essay competition on the topic of Gun Violence. The winners of that competition, EPA associate members Brittany Vincent, Kaleigh Keenan, Courtney Pisano, Anthony Loiacono and their faculty advisor Thomas DiBlasi, all of St. Joseph’s University (NY), were recognized at the 2024 EPA meeting in Philadelphia. Their winning essay has now appeared in a special issue on Gun Violence in the journal Psychological Reports, as a letter to the Editor.
An introduction to the special issue has been written by EPA Fellow Richard Harnish (Penn State University), which you can read here. And, as a special offer to EPA members, you can read the entire issue of Psychological Reports (including the essay by Vincent et al.) by clicking the link at the bottom of Dr. Harnish’s introduction.
EPA would like to thank Dr. Harnish and Sage Publications, as well as all of the participants in the EPA essay competition, for helping us keep the issue of gun safety on the agenda as an important topic of research in a society awash in guns and their too often tragic aftermath.
